Introduction

Bakasoro Foundation (BF) is a humanitarian and development needs driven national organization fighting poverty among women and marginalised persons through poverty-fighting development and humanitarian aid projects. Through largely participatory mechanisms working with community groups of women and youth, BF places special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty.

Women are at the heart of BF community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of disease, and increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. BF also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and other natural disasters such as floods, and helps people rebuild their lives. BF’s programmes include a broad range of topics including emergency response, food security, water and sanitation, economic development, climate change, agriculture, education, health and Nutrition. BF also advocates at the local, national, and international levels for policy change and the rights of poor people. Within each of these areas, BF focuses particularly on empowering and meeting the needs of women and girls and on promoting gender equality.

BF is National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) that have been legally incorporated in Jun 6, 2022 with Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (Reg. 4282) BF is a membership organization with a board of directors that provide oversight management and appoints the Chief Executive Officer. The day-to-day affairs of the organization are overseen by the Chief Executive Officer and a team consisting of the head of programs and administration and finance manager
